The Possible Moves of An Evil Mind

I would like to share some thoughts about the Iran war initiated by president Donald Trump. From my point of view, Trump and his group of neo-fascists allies are evil enough for having plan to use this war to install a regime of exception in the United States, as a “collateral” benefit of the conflict. The past reveals the future.

Trump’s interests are guided by his ambitions, one of which is to use this war to declare a state of emergency in the United States. The most important thing for him is to remain in power in order to avoid going to jail for his numerous crimes, and to continue favouring himself and his allies through kleptocracy.

Trump will use any attack on a military or civilian target in the US by alleged Islamic terrorists operating within the country as the perfect excuse to invoke the Emergency Powers Act and cancel the congressional midterm elections scheduled for November.

These are not mere premonitions. In my opinion, the fact that Trump may be an idiot
— a claim I dispute — should not be the main focus of analyses of the current situation. He and his inner circle are perverse enough to stage an attack on US citizens — possibly with Putin’s help — in order to perpetuate his power as president of the United States.

This scenario must not be disregarded when analysing the war in Iran. For Trump, it is a key objective, as well as the geopolitical and economic interests he shares with Putin, Netanyahu and the oligarchies that support them.

Several analysts, including the historian Timothy Snider, had emphatically point out the possibility that Trump can use this war to push the false narrative of the existence of a national emergency —allowing him to cancelled indefinitely the mid-terms elections and later, even the 2028 presidential elections.

If that is the ”collateral” result of this war, Trump will had obtained his main goal. Whatever might happen in the Middle East countries, and the destiny of the Iran autocracy that still exists notwithstanding the killing of the Ayatollah Ruhollah Musavi Khomeini, are not matters in the Trump’s concerns list as a priority.

All he seeks is the consolidation of his power in the United States, and whatever may happen in the world is seen by him from that perspective, and with that purpose in mind.

Considering the present circumstances and the possible future scenarios, if Trump is not stopped by the people, and the institutions and entities that form part of the democratic system — with a broad alliance of the political sectors that believe in democracy — a new chapter in United States history may begin, with a direct impact not only on neighbouring countries in the Western hemisphere, but also on the rest of the world. Needless to say that, from that moment onwards, the global situation will be anything but ‘beautiful’.
